Ahimsa House in South Georgia
Ahimsa House embarked on another trip to beautiful South Georgia, this time to Hinesville in Liberty County!
In our efforts to increase awareness and support for Ahimsa House in more rural areas of the state, we conducted a presentation to the Tri-County Protective Agency, the county’s domestic violence shelter. This shelter is one of the few that accept survivors’ pets onsite!
Along with the Agency’s staff and neighboring Glynn County Animal Control officers, we detailed our need for more fosters, veterinary, and boarding partners in South Georgia. This meeting helped reinforce our relationship with the Tri-County Protective Agency and allowed us to share our brochures with various local social service agencies and veterinary clinics (make sure to join our Brochure Brigade for a low-effort, but effective, volunteer role!).
Ahimsa House remains dedicated to helping all family members reach safety from violence, and pet-friendly shelters like the Tri-County Protective Agency help make our mission a reality.
