Over the last six years, the Ahimsa House signature event has raised over $445,000 to help the human and animal victims of domestic violence in Georgia reach safety together. Each year, the planning committee enlists the help of corporate sponsors and individual donors to assist in the major undertaking to bring awareness to the link between family violence and animal cruelty and to fund our important, but often overlooked cause.
This event was started in 2011 to support Ahimsa House. Demand for services continues to increase as awareness of our program grows. During this time, requests for services increased by 443%. The money raised at this event is crucial to ensure that no person escaping domestic violence has to choose between their safety and that of a beloved pet.
